I find myself stalled at the beginning of Book 4. Perhaps once Christmas break starts I can get back into it.

Still slow progress. Think I'm going to set this one down for now. It's really well done, I'm apparently just not in the mood. So it goes.

This is a great book, but I find myself struggling to get through it. Maybe it needs to be set aside for a while.

DNF at 32%. Sigh.

I've barely scratched the surface of this book and am already sick and tired of hearing how awesome the system is. Will stick it out for a bit longer, but I will not slog through hundreds of pages of this guy patting himself on the back.

Ever read a book that everyone insists is absolutely, staggeringly brilliant but you can't figure out why? That's me right now with this one. DND at 53%

42% into this and it finally appears that the author might be thinking about perhaps approaching a point.

Audiobook this time around.

I'm on the part where one character is explaining to another how all the metals work. It's like a video game tutorial. It wouldn't feel out of place if he said "R1 opens the Allomancy menu, holding down triangle brings up the item wheel." I'm done with this one.

I'm early yet, but there are some "old man yells at cloud" vibes.

The author uses Stitch Fix as an example of a company whose founder ignored data and went with her gut. When this book was published in February of 2023, Stitch Fix's stock was down ~95% from its highest point and ~66% from its IPO. What a great example!

DNF at 37%. Thought this would be a good audiobook for the dog park. The main character is a terrible human being. Since it's first person perspective, we are stuck with her the whole time. It also doesn't help that the narrator is mediocre.

Lost interest about halfway through. It's not an awful book (it's not exceptional, either). Just not working for me.

Ah, the books one finds in the Little Free Libraries around town.

Did I need to start a ninth book? Not really. But it's audio and I needed something to listen to at the dog park. So it goes.

I should not be struggling this much with a book this short. Not sure if it's me or the book, but it's just not holding my interest.

DNF at 20%. There are hundreds of pages left and I'm not slogging through them.

I feel like this story is on a slow drip. If I weren't recovering from surgery and unable to do much else, not sure that I would have stuck with it this long. Maybe it gets better?
