I have been reading this for a week, and the only thing keeping me going are the povs of Iris + Evangeline. Also, everything about Maven is very compelling. He has been my reason to keep going with this series, even when I worry about his end 😂

the fmc and her love story with her guy is just. annoying and repetitive. I am reading this for every other character but her lol

I have been listening to the audiobook for a few days and omg I love it. I decided against better judgement to read this for r/Fantasy bingo (almost...there...); I do kind of want to invest in the series, even tho I have heard that it becomes bad to worse with the sequels 😗

murphys law, plot driven final boss and the most capable fmc in the histories all went out big for this one.

nothing about this is spellbinding. a jumbled mess with no heads or tails. the family dynamics of the "enemy" mmc are interesting.. but good god do somw characters repeat themselves a million times.

2x my hold on the library books lapses 🥲 3rd time will be a charm (when my hold returns to me).

gotta say, the writing is incredibly simple. I am tired of witch hunts and "magic is forbidden", but alas.

I have been reading this since the 5th and forgot to add it. I wish it was over, but I got still some ways to go.

some of the chapters are 30 pages, and I despair.

we had some very nice other povs, but they are few and far in between.

I will mark it as read, as the final 15 pages are a deleted scene exclusive to my edition 😊

loving this ao far. the gore parts are surprisingly easy to read and very entertaining. (there is a vomiting moment that didnt even phase me).

I really liked the start of thr book, but its losing me midway.

I started the audiobook at the beginnig of January but had a hard time following all the descriptions. Switched over to the ebook at 25%

while this is reylo fanfic, I do enjoy the male love interest's pov. sadly the fmc is written in a way only fanfic authors and haters would portray Rey 🤣

Coming from a romantasy book, this is just perfect. I cannot shut my brain off when I read silly things, and am starting to prefer literary fiction like this. It really makes me think and wonder.
