This book reminds me of why I stopped reading ya novels. Pages and pages of banter between the main leads, which is exhausting when the dialogue is NOT good. You know a book’s not got much of plotline when you can’t wait to finish it. *sigh* Honestly, Kai and the hope of a good ending is all that’s keeping me going.

25% in and I’m still struggling to piece the backstory together…

Oh boy, I think I got my hopes up high with this one. So far, the writing is unnecessarily pretentious - trying to sound like poetry but the words are just stumbling over each other. Trying to ignore it and just get to the meat of the story. Fingers crossed

This book is just going to be a cheap thrill and I expect nothing more. Cheap thrills are fun now and then... But two pages in and I’m already irritated. Dubai is not ‘Indian’!. We’re not even the same country! Do some basic research before you write a book, for fucks sake.

The story and writing seem more suited to an anime than a novel...

Good god, this book has one of the most ridiculous beginnings ever. And the MC is in the running for the title of 'Most Stupidest Heroine'.

The Hindi God of Ginesh ? Really ? For Ganesh's sake Meg Cabot, when you're writing about a character who's grown up in India, do at least 5 mins worth of research on the country please.

So I just chapter 2 of this book, and noticed a huge error. The main character talks about the Hindi God of Ginesh. Anyone who knows about India knows Hindi is a language and Hindu is a religion. And it's not Ginesh, it's Ganesh. For christ's sake Meg Cabot, you're writing about a character who's grown up in India, and you can't even do the most minimal of research on the country. Shame on you!

Well, Looks like this is another Harry Potter knock-off, but with elemental magic instead of practical. Still, it's been interesting so far.

I'm reading through pages and pages of how Cassie and the hot guy each think the other is a wounded, wonderful spirit they cant brwathe without. And yet all they have done so far is stare at each other for a couple of moments ONE TIME! WTF!
