I have read two memoirs this year about (former) child stars abused by their mothers in a unique type of hell. Fuck Mormonism but also I think Mormonism is just the ultra-concentrated version of how US parents view that parents should have absolute control over the autonomy of their children. They are not people, they are dolls for a parent's greater purpose. Or something. But fuck Mormonism.

I came back to this book after a year and I remembered why I had to take such a long break. I'm so nauseated. I'm in mourning for men I've never known, who would die decades before I was born. Its such a good book
