While the themes in this book were fascinating (the dangers of hero worship/chosen one narrative, battle of free will against fate, the ethics of governance) and characters like Alia were fascinating as ever, this sequel still fell short of its predecessor. I think it suffered from too much exposition and was also a little hard to follow at times in its pretentiousness.
