The good side of this book is that it is like taking a class on-line. The bad side is the same fact. My study pace is constantly interrupted by life and business, but I can say that I am enjoying it and learning from it. Thumbs up for now.

Loved the book. The author did a superb job in research and storytelling. He answered questions I did not even know I had. I highly recommend this one for all who enjoy reading history.

Unlike my wife, I don't sit down and read volumes in a few hours; I plod. That should not be interpreted as a slow, laborious read for others. This book is really interesting. If it weren't, I would have shelved it before now. I love history books that help you step right into the time period and mindset of the time. They allow you to move from "what were they thinking?!" to "Now I understand." It's a must read.
