the two mcs are hitting too close to home. this is something that makes me like a novel instantly. it feels like someone understands how I feel. the fears, the grief, all of it.

still no idea what to think of this... the story is entertaining but the setting and the scenes are static and lack color, if you know what I mean. aside for tiny changes, they repeat in the same manner every other chapter, and I'm tired.

my 6pm A2 students didn't come to the lesson and I find that so disrespectful. you could've told me beforehand so I would've organized my time differently.

the reason for her dismissal was weak tbh. as was that bc of that, now no school wants to hire her.
There are a lot of weak plot points in this book

the story got better and I'm liking it more but it's an okay story so far

I know they are teens but gosh... they are joined at the hip. they are sugary cute but in a way that's too much for me. bc their scenes often go the same: a lot of Ily's, I won't lose you, you are adorable blah blah blah. so far I still don't see where this is going since some of the "issues" were solved
I got attached to scottie and stan though. now their story I would find more alluring to read

everybody is praising her for having 'a good heart' not realizing she does it to protect herself to not get hurt again. everyone has a tipping point when enough is enough and they snap. I hope it happens to milow. bc the life she lived so far was super sheltered and the people around her treat her like she's made of porcelain. the whole family crying when they discover her past was a bit over the top to me

me relating to milow (pretty sure is autistic other than the traumas happened to her) and scottie whom I can see from afar has some of my relational issues and is angry at the world

Ashby is just too perfect. and I don't mean that as a good thing. Any character, even the nice ones, must have a flaw to work in fiction, otherwise they are 1) boring 2) unrealistic. Even the kindest person in the world has flaws! Nobody is perfect.
The story flows so I'm going to keep on reading but the pace is too slow for my taste so I hope it delivers in other ways

I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop because I'm sure milow will have more hardships before we get to the point of the story she is a teen :(

end of part II... now the title makes sense but maybe it was too extreme to do what grey just did?!

started part II and I hope it keeps being good. the tension between kier and grey is well made and I stand my word that they have strong kellila vibes

'if you die on me,' grey hissed into kier's shoulder, 'I'm going to come right down with you and haunt your bones, kiernan seward, you absolute fcking bastard.' his laugh was breathy, and full of blood. 'i'll hold you to that.'

they have kellila vibes to me. plus their well/mage bond that has been named 'thread of power' so far strengthens the vibes

the tether between grey and kier is so much how I imagine the bond between kell and lila may work in threads 2 so I'm excited to read this book!!

at the beginning the mcs were off to a good start of what could've been great grumpy/sunshine banter, but as the story progressed I found little chemistry between them. they seem forced at times and I lost interest. the rest also seems low effort and predictable (pretty sure I know who's vandalizing the shop)
