I have to stop because duty calls but I'm eating this up. can't wat to have more time to read it

this is exactly my cup of tea. But it's not a secret I love reading about writers and editors and people in the publishing world

Thanks to HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction for the arc! I hope to enjoy this one <3

this is incredibly sloooow and boring. which is not good for a book that's about 300 pages. I've seen longer books hooking me after the first chapter or even on the first 2-3 pages.

can evangeline take a break

I like watching people exploring caves but it'd be too claustrophobic for me .

[redacted] is... who? AHhh.

petra is maomao coded

“the last word is always stars” - darlington my italian lit profs throughout my school and uni years would've liked you very much (studying dante and the divine comedy is mandatory in italian school)

also funny bit. virgil believed the door to hell was in a sulphuric lake that is not far from where I am and it ties with book 2 when they do the rituals and it smells like suphur + the fountain and drowning at sterling

smiling like an idiot hehehe

the last line of dante's inferno is 'e quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle' (and then we went out to see the stars) and how alex's birth name is a nod to the stars and the sky and the space. and how she's dante, the lost pilgrim who needs a guide (virgil) but later as a virgil substitute helps darlington get out of hell and they sort of switch roles.

happy that we get a chapter with alex's pov and a chapter with darlington's. we got his pov in the prev books but it was not enough

this series is the perfect read for the -ber months

I am so tired (not of this book. of my life)

“Galaxy Stern,” Darlington said, his eyes flashing gold, “I have been crying out to you from the start.”

reread before the last book. 2 years ago and I listened to the audiobook and forgot a lot of what happened (not darlington's disco stick obvs)

yes give me the angst!!!

these two are well paired because she's cheerful and he's grumpy and he's bothered by her behavior but at the same time amused. and even tho alistair wanted to investigate alone, parts of him crave the attention and persistence of sunny to trail after him

he made the knife she had at his throat burn with magic and she dropped it. you know who I thought about when I read this right? and sunny and alistair make me think about them a lot

just discovered that this book has dragons too, which makes it even more cool (and it may also have necromancy, something else I like)

this has the kind of vibes I like (magical misanthropic detective x thief who might be magical too)

this book is making me think about things I don't want to think about regarding my personal situation so perhaps I should stop reading for now and go back to it when I feel less depressed

this book is triggering me but I want to know how it ends

oh what a turn of events. though I'm still not sold hmmm

once again I'm entertained by the story but at the same time I'm not convinced enough because this is too ya fable-y for me

this book has been intense so far

jacks talks like spike from btvs and I like this very much
