"Is a woman in pain not in enough pain until she can't work, until she can't take care of her children, until she's unable to be a satisfying sexual partner?"

Yes. Absolutely yes. (Or, rather, she's not in enough pain until she's dead and they say "wow, we should have seen this sooner.")

This book is hard to read.

Not because it's poorly-written--quite the opposite, in fact. But because it is so very true.

Including this release, we have exactly two books on endometriosis on shelf at the library where I work. How many are available on babies, conception, IVF? A multitude.

The fiction was Gossip Girls meets Gilmore Girls and I finally had to skip the remaining 7.5 pieces of it. But the nonfiction essays? Actually pretty good.

The introduction was good. The titular essay was good. Otherwise, I'm getting Rory Gilmore vibes--Logan-Era Rory, at that.

(Also. This needed more editing. I'm sure they were trying to strike a harmony between preserving the original and making these pieces actually readable, but I think they fell short.)

I actually really like this--aside from the whole fake Harry Potter thing. Maybe it'll end the way I want?
