I wonder how Steve managed to write an over 400-pages long book just about people walking. And still made quite interesting. I mean, so far at least.

This book is excellent. If it wasn’t for the doomscrolling on TikTok and wasting time, I’d be able to read it in one sitting. But I need a break now.

Half way there, it very slowly picks up the pace. Hopefully, it’ll be worth it.

I don’t know what to think. I feel like DNF-ing it. I thought it was supposed to be horror or thriller but so e romance with a touch of spooky. But then I saw a TikTok where a creator said the same thing - she thought of DNF-ing it, too. But then she decided to continue and well, she had no regrets.
I’m not sure how to proceed. A few spooky moments aren’t enough for me but I’ll try till I reach 30-35%.

It somehow manages to make me angry about the topic of the book but also isn’t riveting. I feel this is going to be one of those books where author thinks they show off their writing skills only to produce a literary dookie.

I don’t like it. I don’t read the original English version, so it might be the reason why it’s so unappealing. But I’m close to the end so I will persevere.

This book is messing with my head to the point don’t even know what to write here.

I feel this book was inspired by “Split” movie. Or the movie by this book. It’s good though. I managed to catch the twist incoming.

Off to a decent start. Not dragging it unnecessarily. Characters introduced quickly, no wasted words.

Almost there. Why is it so long?

The way this story is stretched over hundreds of pages makes me more invested in it than I could ever expect from myself.

Part 2! Flashbacks!

I see why Manacled was so popular. I always thought it was some poor, old-school blogging-style writing of a Harry Potter fangirl but as I’m reading Alchemised, I see how wrong I was. There actually are people out there that can write and are not published. Until now.

I’m still in Part 1 and not much is happening, seemingly. But I still enjoy it.

It’s way too long. Had to speed up the audiobook to 1.5x because it started dragging. The childhood part was way too long. I feel like I’ve been listening for ages only to find out I was at 46%. Dread, dread, dread…

And I find parts narrated by June quite unbearable. I understand she’s a teenager (17-18 when I am at) but her entitlement and constant whining about Brett ignoring is just tiring. Grow up, girl

I’m leaving last bit for later. I’m actually tired of the story.

So far, I feel like screaming: “Well done, Scorsese!” I’ve never seen a book so faithfully translated into a motion picture. Mind you, I’ve watched the movie first. I had no idea it was based on a book.

I feel like I’m rewatching it in my mind.
