I've been laughing more or less continuously for the past hour...it reminds me of Hitchhiker's guide, but with a bit more sense and a humor based on current events on Earth...

Q: Carl: "Is it possible to cry so much you dehydrate yourself?"

So far, the main protagonist is a complete idiot. So...yes. It's definitely a YA...

How did I not find this sooner? A military fantasy with guns, that is well written, interesting and enjoyable?? wow...

Well...at least I can't blame the author for symplifying anything :D I have read about melatonin and light in multiple books on psychology and biology both, and I though I had it pretty much covedered....now I find, that there is much more to the process, and you really can write about it for 20 pages...

Hooked from the first page...so far, the hook only digs deeper...

Really? Is this what you call a plot twist? And for crying out loud...dream sequences? Why can't we just have good old-fashioned flashbacks, or memories? Why dreams?
I more or less liked the first book....I know I like this one less...

Toto ma zarazilo. GR choice awards - nonfiction - the autistic brain má 600 hodnotení, ale 9200 hlasov...zatiaľ čo Gulp (moja voľba) má 7500 hodnotení a 9000 hlasov. Kde ten autistic brain nabral hlasy, keď to nikto nečítal, a na základe čoho za to ľudia hlasovali??

I was thinking about adding some new friends on GR...you know..to be sociable. And I compared books with them. And I found out I'm very picky :D I mean...1/5 for Golden Compass? 1/5 for Prince of Thorns?? In one case, we had almost 200 books in common (!!), but about 190 was in her "to read". Wow. I didn't add any friends today. I don't feel very sociable...

Goodreads Choice awards...damn the fantasy section....seriously, I don't ever remember being so conflicted about books :D Daylight War, Republic of Thieves, Emperor of Thorns AND Memory of Light? For crying out loud...I'd give each of those books 6/5 if possible :D

A chainmaille stopping four crossbow bolts?? Two of them from almost point-blank range?? I know I'm reading fantasy, but...come on! This is just ridiculous...

So far, it has lost most of the humor, and it's trying to look like a serious fantasy...which is exactly, what I was afraid would happen. Those characters are too comical to be in a serious dark fantasy...they would fit much better in a discworld sort of setting....absurd, and filled with oppourtunities to be witty. a pity...

So the idea I get from this book is...Jobs was an asshole, and at first, people didn't let him get away with it, so he cried a lot and threw tantrums...and later, he was an asshole, but people learned to tolerate it, so he just threw tantrums. Well now...usually, the more I know about someone, the more I like them. This doesn't appear to be the case...I wonder...will the last 200 pages change my mind?

I didn't want to have discussions about life with him. With him, I wanted to spend hours making animal noises...like sighs and grunts and "press harder" or "touch me there again!"...
