I'm struck anew at the tenderness of Mhoram and Saltheart Foamfollower. A Lord and a Giant yet each capable of an astonishingly open heart and concern for another man. Let snot forget this was written in, what, the late 70's, early 80's, long before such tenderness was considered a virtue.

I wondered how this might hold up, as my last reading was some time ago. I find I have so much more empathy with Covenant and his brokenness. Is he a bitter, gruff cunt? Absolutely. Did his experiences with disease and societal osterization make him that way? You bet.
I enjoy reading of him feeling the beauty of The Land and letting that heal him a little. He's all gruff on the outside but a li'l softy inside.

Time for a nostalgia read. I must have gone through this series a half a dozen times and it's time to visit The Land again..

This smells kinda YA? The writing is really simplistic and the characters somewhat flat. I'm trying to like it but I've read so many other fantasy books with actual interesting ideas to let Cahill off the hook I'll finish the book and reassess but something new and interesting better happen soon.

The audiobook was available at the library. Why not listen to a beloved favourite?

Dwayna help me, I'm going in! I've been devouring books this spring but the sheer denseness of this read should be a nice speed-bump.

I mean, we all knew there had to be some dud agents during any war, but it sure makes for an awkward read, watching Marie fuck everything up along the way.

I don't understand who this vapid genre is meant for. It's the worst of all worlds... re-hashed tech ideas from a hundred Star Trek episodes jammed in with super adolescent braggado, bombast and hormones.

Also you can't tell me shit-hot "Medusa" doesn't have better things to to than to hack a school's sim system. PLEASE.

It's perfectly clear to me that the author knows *nothing about archery. Modern arrows are still fetched with feathers (at least the high quality ones, not the Canadian Tire Specials.) Also, if you're hitting your elbow with the string, you have some serious biomechamical issues. The forearm is the usual target of string slap.
