i think part of what makes this book not so well written is how easily i forget that it’s set in the 50s and the 18th century. i think it’s cause the book mentions things like “working remotely” which makes most people think of ms teams and emails, not post and those old telephones. i feel like it could’ve just been set in modern day bc the 50s setting doesn’t really add much
