I've been snowed in with the power out and it's given me time to make progress on this long book. A great story of lifelong friendship, forgiveness, and redemption.

I'm pretty far along in the book now, p698. It took me a while to get to know all the characters, but now I feel like I've known them my whole life. Good character development is so comforting, like being wrapped in a warm blanket.

So good, with a medieval theme. It's making me want to get back to reading King Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable.

This book reminds me of Roots by Alex Haley because it covers a long period of time (though significantly less time than Roots). And I feel like I'm moving through time by reading the book. I like how old characters come back in the story. I didn't read a book this long in 2025 so maybe 26 will be my year of long books.

I'm getting excited about this book. Looking like it might be 5 stars. The part where they dunk Donovan in the water is riveting!

The part about "The Van" sounds like it might be scary. I hope it is.

Getting back into this after having it on hold at the library...they're at the skating rink now. Takes me back to my time in the 90s at the rink.
