I can see the appeal but it ends up falling back on clichées way too much.
From what I can tell so far its yet another love triangle between the two opposite princes, one mischevious and fiery (literally a fire fae prince) and the dark brooding one (literally the prince of void element).
MC swoons over both and is overwhelmed by their presence and overwhelmingly attracted and all that...

I am really struggling to finish this one. The author just keeps on pulling the same thing over and over again and I was already sick and tired of it 30% in.
It's an endless loop of people in elevated positions mistreating the MCs and generally being corrupt and selfish.
There is a limit on how many times you can pull the same stunt and this book is far beyond any definition of reasonable.

The mc starts out tstl and completely pathetic on top. I can not take her seriously.
Even if there will be major character development throughout the story, the character as is is so outragously unbelievably stupid that I can not possibly take any development seriously.
The only possible tolerable character development would be if they literally grew a new brain for her in a vat.

Yep, as I guessed. The horror plot mostly serves as contrast/backdrop for the dark erotica core that leans into the bloody vampire-type paird with abuse and suffering as is usual for this type of book.

Well this is a total shitshow. So far its just bad horror but it very much leans into this direction where this whole thing becomes a titilating sexual kink thing. The story so far is so bad it seems like the only possible explanation is that its just the backdrop for the "romance" (or more likely erotica) part to come.

This started really promising but then it quickly went to terrible and over the top melodrama. This author is missing very basic story telling skills.

This seemed like a great setup initially but now that I actually get to the meat of the plot everything seems to fall apart in coherency. The plot and character motivations are driven by completely illogical and unjustified logical leaps and outright contradiction which I find incredibly frustrating to read. If there isn't some sort of explanation for all this seeming nonsense this is a dnf for me

This already started out quite badly.
Valkyrie sent to acquire a powerful soul needed to fend off Ragnarok that threatens to destroy the universe. The first thing that happens is that her sister spends their entire budget on an expensive car. I get that this was supposed to be funny, but things like that just frustrate me to no end. Why bother using the time to save the world if you can work minimum wage instead.

It's very much the same as the first book. I just don't enjoy watching an MC that knows less than I do. I'll probably drop this.

This is getting tedious. The MC keeps everything from everyone. The whole addiction thing she initially did made sense, and I could totally understand it. That's how addiction logic twists your mind. I could understand her reluctance to contact the doc but this is getting out of hand on an inexcusable scale. She is keeping everything from everyone, even going so far as to hide evidence not once but multiple times.

I can't deal with a relapse story atm. I'm going to leave this on hold for now.

That is really what the book is going with.
The only conclusion she was able to come to was that she is literally a superhero? Really? If that is supposed to be somehow funny I don't get the humour. It's just cringeworthy.

I like the intro so far but I am a bit torn about the whole "I am a superhero" bs. I really hope this is just a in-mind joke and she won't actually start to spew bs like that.
