This is fascinating, gripping… and, with the immersive dialogue and sound effects, terrifying.

There continues to be good content mixed in with all the repetition and paraphrasing of Scripture… and some Calvinism to boot. Far from perfect, but it contains some useful nuggets of truth to be gleaned.

I enjoy the immersive experience of these full-cast audiobooks with sound effects, but I wish it didn’t skip over the writing outside dialogue. It feels less like an audiobook and more like a podcast (or television show without looking at the screen).

There is good content here, but I’m spoiled by great writers… which John Piper does not seem to be.

Only the epilogue to go! Honestly, while the book as a whole is quite good — I do feel like the ending was abrupt and rushed through an important part that should’ve had more attention.

This book… well, the title makes sense. It’s an emotional roller coaster, flying back and forth between hilarious and heartbreaking.

I still cannot say I see where the story is going (although I have multiple theories), but I must keep reading it.

These stories are interesting on their own, but the storytelling in this collection really elevates it to the next level.

This is both an interesting — and perplexing — mix of chaotic humor and heartbreaking realism. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds.

This is a great collection of stories. True crime is an interesting category for me — I enjoy it, and it’s captivating, but knowing it’s real makes it more difficult to stomach.
