With this narrator, I feel as though I’m a wee lad with a Brit nana reading me a bedtime story

This narration really makes me feel like I’m in England of yore 👴🏼

Two stories into this collection, and two for two on descriptions of birds reproducing. Yes, you read that right.

It’s interesting how Ian Fleming’s 007 series includes, in every book without fail: detailed descriptions of nature/animals, lengthy descriptions of fancy locales and arrays of food, word battles between men, and shallow descriptions of women.

The first short story in this collection, “From a View to a Kill,” features descriptions of pretty flowers and twittering birds near the start. Who’s the audience?

This book has the same feel as the original Hunger Games novel, but refined and more detailed. I like it!

My opinion of this book continues: better than the second one, not as good as the first. I’m enjoying the story, but like the two before it there’s a lot of talking and political drama — so I need breaks from time to time 😵‍💫

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer.”

There are many great repeating lines like that in the Dune saga. So far this is better than book two, but the original is still my favorite!

I can’t imagine this’ll be one of my favorite books or anything like that… but it’s a fun break while I wait for my next audiobook hold to be ready from the public library.

I’m grateful for audiobooks to listen to whilst working long days of dense tasks. It makes time go by significantly quicker, and keeps me productive.

This book is really fun so far — and I’m making it even more fun by using some Southern drawl as I read aloud. I know this book is a rougher read than the main trilogy, but I’m hoping it’ll still be a fun read for us both!

The cliffhangers in these books are [usually] so good! The current plan is to read the last chapter (and epilogue) tomorrow so we can watch the movie later in the day. My kid’s excited!

This was a rough chapter tonight. My poor kiddo was upset with the ending. Only three more to go…

I didn’t expect the turn this book has taken, but I’m enjoying it!

This book is a great mix of fun and serious. The story is still developing, but I’m enjoying it… and dreading the potential curveballs to come. I expect some rough stuff to come.

As much as I’m enjoying the Bond books… there are some parts that don’t get better, and they’re annoying. Chief among those are the way female characters are written, being shallow and man-serving.

Apart from that, and the outdated racial terms, I’m enjoying this story.

I can definitely tell Fleming’s writing is improving between books.

We’re nearing the finale… the kid is excited…

I’m finally getting around to this one (while waiting on hold for another audiobook) — I was expecting it to be good, but it is still surprising me! Definitely a worthwhile read/listen; quite thought-provoking.
