it feels weird to celebrate how seen this story so far makes me feel, as our main character is currently obsessed with checking if ants are living in her body after a traumatic event, but it rlly shows ocd as a result of trauma which is where my ocd comes from,,,, its weird to celebrate something so specific and grotesque

the first chapter of this is CRAZY

i am really engaged thus far but i do think parts of this resemble when i would write a literary analysis and college with a length requirement, where i would use large clumps of block quotes to lengthen my paper

finally touching this arc!! a little nervous-- as this book has two major tenants: the history of the orange, and our narrators life. my main issue thus far is that it seems to be bouncing around a lot in a way that is either intense academic text or deep reflection. i am hoping it all comes together more thoroughly by the end

!!!!!! so far rlly into this. not unlike private rites or i who have never known men to me. issue is one of those books i loved and the other i found so boring... we shall see how this fares

i feel like if i had started this book even a month earlier it would have rattled me in a way in which i wouldnt have put it down. losing a father figure and the world feels like its ending AND youre gay? too much. too relatable.
