I can’t believe I’ve read 26 of the books in this series! It’s always nice to spend time with MMA Ramotzwe!

A page turner!

Wish I’d read this first book in the series first before the one I read earlier this year. It explains a lot I missed. Love the descriptions of Edinburgh and the inclusion of literary references here and there. Shelton is becoming one of my favorite authors ( I love the Alaska Wild series, too).

Interesting. A little slow.

Ok. A bit repetitious. An interesting look at Dickens and his family.

About 40% through and still not really engaged. I’m disappointed so far.

Will this book never end???

I get impatient when the storyline bounces back and forth in time. I know Morton does this to build suspense but she needs a better editor. It’s frustratingly too long.

Rather dull so far. Not many characters but confusing nonetheless. Moves around in time. Should be better than it is so far.

Disappointing

Slogging through. Not nearly as good as previous books.

When does this get better? So far, it's a snooze with too many characters being introduced. Very depressing, too.

Hi hum so far

A bit long and drawn out. Could have used some editing. Nonetheless, interesting issues raised and characters intertwined.

I am loving this so far!! The characters are interesting and the writing spectacular.

The beginning drags a whole lot and I’m hoping it will improve. I’d hate not to finish this series which I’ve loved from #1.

I am captivated by it. Keep reading to find out what happens next. Very well written.

I am finding this a bit slower than previous Maggie books. The ponderous day-to-day police procedural is probably more realistic, but I keep wanting the action to speed up. Hope it does!

I keep plodding along but really wish things would speed up. Told thru 3 points of view, I’m finding this tedious.

A lot of characters, and readers are supposed to remember all their names and back stories. This book is easy to set aside right now.
