I am listening to the audio and enjoying the reader a great deal. BUT the only way Hoyt could have borrowed more from the BATMAN story line is if the butlers name is Alfred.

I may return to this someday. The storyline is just moving too slowly for me. I am not a fan of vampire storylines and the slow moving plot. This is a pass form me

The last mystery I read was meh. So far this one is also not grabbing me. Hummmmm is it me? I have been reading mixed reviews.

I am drowning in library books. So, my Kindle Unlimited subscription done until the end of summer (unless I change my mind lol)

Just starting chapter 12. The sex is steamy. The concern for the younger sister's virginity is overdone.

Started off strong and then slowed. I feel the magic between the main characters.

Listening to the audio version of the book. Breaking out of my usual pattern and trying magic/fantasy. I enjoy a bossy woman. Not everyone does.

I know I have just started this book, but the layup of the plot is grabbing.

Good start to dual crimes this FBI special unit handles.

The clues are coming together

Good but putdownable. I want to find out more but all info is coming very slowly.

Kobna Holdbrook-Smith could read the phone book to me, and I would be happy to listen to his wonderful voice. Fortunately, the book is starting off strong.

Just on the edge of being really good. A house party. That means a lot of names. Add there are French and English titles and I am struggling. I have had this up to read forever.

Wow this is a bit slow going. I wonder if I can count this one towards ambitious as the heroine main goal in the book is to have this party. Every page is about this party. I wish I could say this is enough to keep me interested. IT IS NOT

Listening to the Audiobook. Early days so......

I picked this book because it was a free book offered on Amazon a couple of years ago. I enjoy reading books on military, but this one has more of an overarching as the Title says "Deep State" than I am used to. Good writing but so far no one that I can root for. I can say it is holding my attention.

I am loving this book. The Duke is I don't know how to describe him. My only wish is that the author would have edited down the number of pages. Yes they are good but make it too long.

An old nemesis has returned!

As and American I have long wanted to learn more about WWI up to WWII in Europe and Germany. What a better way to learn than to read a mystery set as the first war ends. Looking at things through a German soldiers' eyes is strange but authentic feeling.

The Cinderella plot of the ball is just being laid out. My favorite is the description of our heroine as a blond with the audiobook cover of a brunette.

A bit of a Cinderella storyline

Action packed with snarky fun dialogue and a hero dog. What more is there to life....lol

I like this. Usually we don't find out this stuff till late in the book
