The story and plot are good. Not as much action so I reading as I have free time.

I am fascinated by Neapolitan but never had an interest in the revolution that brought about his rise to power. It has always seemed to me that that it was something that did deserve to be called the reign of terror. This book is during that period of time.

I was wondering how the author was going to move the story forward and I am liking this idea.

Enjoying the writing and the plot. A suspension of disbelief is required but that is true for so many hr.

Ok loving this so far. I know it is only 5% but it has grabbed my attention!

Great writing as always but not a fan of historical seafaring mystery.

Interesting 2nd book that I have read in a month that mentions Prince Albert and his illness/death. The story so far has been mainly a recap of the first book. I read it but vaguely remember it.

I don't often reread a book. BUT this was a 5* read and I thought I would listen to the audiobook

Very good as they escape France. It will be interesting to see how the story goes once they are back in England. That is usually when writers plots get lost.

Do you ever like a book but don't like it at the same time. That is my dilemma. Enjoying the audio but the protected woman her story is not a strong storyline for me.

Enjoying the audio version but so far it is similar to other super assassin TV shows.

I am in the minority here but am finding the plotting incredibly slow. Told from 3 viewpoints is not a fav of mine (or even 2). The widow is not a sympathetic character.

I am 1/3 of the way through the book and am just plain bored. This has been well received by many of my Goodreads friends who enjoy the same type of books as I do. I may try another book in the series but am calling it quits on this one.

I am going to continue with the book, but it is not grabbing me the way some of my recent mysteries have.

David is a pig.

Usually, I don't like children in a book. BUT boy do I like Petunia.

I am really enjoying this book. At the start of the suffragette movement with good characters. Mystery and intrigue. I liked the prequel.

I like the way the story is starting but Braden has fallen out of favor with me so it will be tough to win me back. Last book in the package that I bought.

Really surprised that there are no reviews on this book Spencer has a big following and I thought she used ARC readers. Any ole way here I go at 2% I can tell the duke is on the spectrum.

Just not in the mood. I have nothing good or bad to say about the book as I didn't get that far into it.

I am enjoying the writing. Definitely getting a Heyer vibe.

This book is not for everyone. BUT if you remember computer games in the early 80's.this is a book for you. I started playing games on the TI and switched to the commadore 128(?) the graphics were stick figures when they first came out. I would copy code out of a magazine for games.

I am an absolute fan of working military or police dogs.

When listening to the audio book and Mexican drug lords sound like Russian Mobsters.

I am enjoying the second book. Police procedurals not usually my favorite but this one is good. I am listening to the audio and like the reader for everyone but the heroine (that one is just a miss for me-you may like it)

I am going to return to this one later

LOL First chapter done. NOT a gripping one.

I do have to say I am enjoying this quite a bit.
