I’m really struggling with this. The underlying story is interesting but no one warned me this was literary fiction which I CANNOT STAND. There’s ties to modern classism, the Cambodian genocide etc. Ugh I just want the time travel. And the purple prose?! Quit it.

Great so far aside from the slave/master relationship. Honestly though, argue at the wall. It’s working here.

This series has been kind of unique. The dick MMC seems to not be the end goal. Thank goodness.

It’s not a quick read, but it’s enjoyable. It has an Asian feel but without the typical primness general associated with it. It’s made me laugh a few times because it turns that tradition on its head. Honestly the only reason I think it leans Asian is because there’s a religion with like a Raven, Bear, monkey, fox, dragon, ox, etc.

Oh yeah. Gripping from page 1.

Very sharp witty humor mixed with like 7th grade penis humor. I’m enjoying it. Very very very slow burn.

I’m currently bed bound with a gnarly herniated cervical disk. And I’m drugged to the gills while I wait for surgery so I can’t really focus well so I’ve been rereading these. They make me happy.

Wow this one doesn’t stop with the action.

Dude this book is THICC. I’m going to need 10-14 business days.

I mean so far this is feeling like a big ole prologue. Hoping there’s some sort of climax coming.
