Cindy Lee is finished with Love Blooms (Bluestar Island, #1)
I'm afraid I have to add this to my DNF. I'm not enjoying it and I can't connect with the main female protagonist. The story and its list of characters are too bland for my taste.

Once again, I'm confused. Where is the hate? Where's the build-up? I see absolutely no hate between these two characters. Just some mild bickering and banter that lasts for all about 2 seconds before things start happening between them. And I'm not even halfway yet. How disappointing. Definitely not a slow burn. Oh well.

I really want to like this book and many other romance novels but its just more of the same. I don't like insta-love and unfortunately, a lot of books are using that troupe over and over again. There's nothing wrong with the troupe per say, to each his own, but for me, it just makes the story boring with nothing to look forward to. I don't think I'll finish this. There are too many other books I want to read.

I'm enjoying the story, but they're breaking the rules a little too soon for my taste.

I'm at a loss as to how being an immature brat translates into being a strong woman with 'fight' in her. Newsflash, selfish and bitchy does not equal true strength.
At this point in the story, Sparrow is making this really hard to enjoy. Its not fun reading about someone throwing a tantrum and spouting cliche comeback lines every five seconds. At least for me its not. I'm hoping she grows on me eventually.

I'm hoping something happens to make me warm up to Nastya and Josh...But, at this point I'm a rather doubtful. Just to be fair I'll finish reading it, but right now there's a big question mark looming over my head, asking, is there a point to all this? If there is I hope it reveals itself sooner rather than later.

This book is really well written, but I find myself more concerned with getting to the end than with the actual storyline. Maybe its because the main characters don't appeal to me at all. I hate females with rotten attitudes but I hate men that allow such attitudes to persist even more. In my world, bowing to bullshit simply cuz the one spewing it is female, makes your masculine appeal dissolve completely.

Sigh, why did Nastya have to start talking? Now I hate her even more. My tolerance for cliche bitches with rotten attitudes have gotten extremely low of late. I'm giving this book a few more chapters of leniency to see if I change my mind. If I'm not convinced by then, I won't even bother wasting my time anymore. Enough is enough. I've had it with cliches.

Writing is nice, but something is definitely off. Situations are little too convenient. I wanted to see for my myself but so far it really does seem like a watered down version of Battle Royale. Oh well, I'll write my full review when I'm finished reading.
