very engaging

i love me a good book

I’m really enjoying this story, Mr. Hlongwane. As sad as it can be at times, it’s also lighthearted and genuinely funny in the same breath. That balance makes it such a beautiful and engaging read.

I’m honestly not enjoying this as much as I thought I would. Mind you, I’ve always wanted to read this book, so I really wanted to love it. At this point, I’m only invested in Moipone, Seun, Ntatemoholo, and Gal’s stories. Yoh, shame, I’m really trying with this one. 😭

Nomzamo is way too gullible because what do you mean you waited until that man served you divorce papers? 😭 Sis, he's been cheating this whole time! & then you're blaming the other woman? Please be serious. Asanda's storyline is boring me to tears. Kioni girl ???? because that man is lying through his teeth, he doesn't want you, he just wants what's between your legs; Jazz babygirl ... I'm rooting for you.

im not loving the story like i thought i would

I love this book so much. It made me see my parents through a different lens and gave me so much grace for them. It made me wish I could go back and treat my dad with more kindness. I can't change the past, but I can honour his memory. My mom is still here, and this book reminded me to love her more—to be gentler, softer, and more patient. Oh Daniel... what a book.

Why did Esua have to die so soon?His death felt painfully premature though , Grandaddy no he's downright cruel. Eddie's death ???? no guys 😭😭😭

The first story didn't quite resonate with me the way I had hoped, but on to the next one, Which Seems to Be the Title of the Book.
