A very mind bending collection of short stories. Some are frankly terrifying some are challenging.
An interesting collection. Is it in a horror or psycho genre?
I found each story disturbing and at the same time enthralling. I will add that horror and its buddies is not my go-to genre as a rule.
How to rate it? Well they truly are incredibly written with mesmerising language.

What a joyful gift of hope this small book is.
It is returned to the library as others are waiting anxiously to read it on the long reserve wait list, and as I returned it I placed a new reservation for myself to read it again. It may well be one a must buy title, as it’s big sister “Braiding Sweetgrass”
As I said at the top of the review, it is a gift of hope and joy.

Reading as an eaudiobook. Length is 8 hour 20 mins. I have given it 58 mins of my life so far and might grant it another 15 to improve.
So far it’s very much ho hum

A thoroughly engrossing murder tale that kept me guessing right to the end. Interesting characters, great storyline as the tale travelled back to the California hippy era and the blurred social lines of the time.
The end as an eaudiobook. Great format for a complex, multi character murder mystery

I have had this title sitting on my bedside table since 2021. Now it demands to be read and it is engrossing me

I am startled, appalled, saddened and with a million questions. But I am not surprised.
It is shocking, but in that way of examining and understanding the possibilities of misogyny and corporate control unleashed and unrestrained, I am not surprised. I am horrified and saddened and enjoy the flicker of hope that is seen in Yolanda and Verla and their choices.

Can’t wait to return when I work my way through the library reserve list again

There is really no one other than Leonard Cohen who can string words together with the same craftsmanship nor with the same ability to make those words land like a hot branding iron
