This is an important book. Frequent, dramatic glucose spikes are extraordinarily detrimental to our health. This book contains simple, clear explanations of how glucose works with and against our system. It also contains "hacks" to make sure our glucose spikes are kept slow and low. Jessie's ideas are really simple and make a lot of sense to me. Thanks Normal Library!

Mrs. Danvers is one of the most deliciously creepy characters I’ve ever met! An instant favorite.

Phenomenal. Wow. The kind of book I’ll own both the printed and audio version of. A key part of the history of Western Civilization.

My first book by Candace Millard. I’m hooked. She is a very engaging writer. I read a book about Sir Richard Burton about 10 years ago, (Burton, A Biography) and I remember being captivated. it’s so fun to revisit his story.

Ok. The first Dan Jones book I read was amazing. Great stories, rich funky unbelievable history and so much perspective. The second, which I listened to, about the Crusades, was pretty darn good, but I found the crusades duller (but just as bloody) than I expected. But this book, which I’m listening to, is amazing. So many characters! Such sweeping history! Crazy stories! Who knew? Love me some Dan Jones!
