This book is even more intense than Gravity by Tal Bauer. I actually had to put it down for a bit. And read something lite. The amount of trauma that Jack Larson went through as a child is unthinkable and when he gets the trust love and concern from Carter he doesnt know what to do with or how to cope. No child should be treated or abandoned by the 2 people who are supposed to love them unconditionally.

Because i have watched and rewatched the series about 3 times and am now reading the book Jacob Teirney is keeping about 90% of the book to the show. If you havent read the book but have seen the show you probably wont notice them then. But so far in my opinion both the book and show have been the best thing i have watched and read in a long time.

My favourite scene in the entire series was when Shane woke up ilya to tell him about not only playing for Ottawa but telling to apply for citizenship in Canada. As well as wanting to start a charity in honour of his mother. The amount of thought and care that went into this reducing ilya to tears and repeating in Russian how much he loves him before saying it English while choking back tears gave me chills.
