Dr. Bevan Lee is my favorite speaker on trauma recovery and codependence. Her voice comes through her writing perfectly. Her deeply personal stories of abuse are hard to read: boundaries are good. Her journey is inspiring. Her shared experience is hopeful. Her tools are life changing. I will reread the “carried feelings” chapter often. The links to her meditations are helpful and a great intro to mindfulness.

I tried. I made it half way through, but I just didn't care what happened. It jumped from year to year and season to season without progressing the story. The swearing and sex were out of place and jarring. Time to put it down.

I love Ove! He is the grumpiest, meanest old man with a heart of gold. Fantastic writing that makes me laugh out loud.

I'm not thrilled about what I've read and not excited to read more.

Beautiful and personal. Two chapters in and I believe I will see parts of myself in each character's story.
