Finished! It's too late at night to write a review, but I can write a note here.

This series was gripping to read, and I enjoyed it a lot! It definitely earned it's Teen rating though. Holy buckets, so much blood! But, it dealt with a post apocalyptic world where survival is a precarious road, as well as the brutality of war in an era of desperation and nihilism. Would recommend for older teens and adults. 👍

Finished chapter 1. This is a two volume set, and the first book is 4 chapters, roughly 600 pages.

It's very good so far! A lot more depth to the story than in the movie, and I'm enjoying it a lot.

It's been a while since my last reread. This is probably my favorite novel, and I'm very excited to settle in for a comfy coze with this dear old friend.

I've finished the third homily. These are so good! And there are many statements in the third one about the sanctity of human life that are well worth reading and sharing.

Finished part 1! It was very nicely wrapped up and leaves us excited to continue with part 2, 3 years later, with the first wedding.

I think I'm going to enjoy this quite a bit. I've always loved the reading of the creation story at the Easter Vigil; it has a beauty and almost magical quality to it that has stirred my heart every time I hear it. And I'm only half way though the first homily, but Pope Benedict XVI treats the subject so well, I'm excited to continue!

An audio book makes repetitive work go by quickly.
The March sisters have been very worried today about their father, sick with pneumonia, and Beth, who has scarlet fever. She seems to be coming out of it though. We'll see how she gets on now that Marmie is home.

An active murder case makes life at the senior living place much more exciting for the members of the Thursday Murder Club.

Very nearly half way done. It's a lot of fun! 😁 A little irreverent, perhaps, but so far very little swearing and no inappropriate scenes.

Things are finally picking up!
Honestly, the hardest part of this book for me has been that I just hate Mark so much. He's so desperate to be in the in-crowd that he compromises everything and is the most gullible, usable fool.

Jane is somewhat better because, though she's got many issues with independence and a violent dislike of men, she's at least intelligent and true to her morals, such as they are.

The chapters are short, but there's a lot there to pray with if you take the time to do it. We're reading about one chapter per week (4-6 pages), and it's beautiful to think about and apply throughout the week.
