A fun vacation book

This book is so good I’m eating it up and can’t put it down!

A tour de force! A magnificent, magical book. With surprises and a true heart that never fails despite all the tragedies of life. And funny! Really a fun and fast read. Wow!

It’s college level magic. So cool.

Still a fun read! The funny outweighs the science which can get pretty deep. Mr wizard meets ET.

The main character asks a generic indigenous man about the tribes- Hopi,Navajo, Mohave that make up the Colorado river tribes; if they get along okay, and he says…..”they marry each other but don’t get along.”

Page 33! The women are quirky and independent and I think somehow that makes this literature! This writer can really turn a phrase and her writing is some kind of book magic! I’m enchanted!

Amazing! Can’t put it down!

Love this book!

I was prepared to hate this book, but it started to. Grab my attention. The books, the romance, the letters. Not sure where we are going with this story; but I am on the bibliophile team and willing to overlook the audacity of alternating chapters and the presumption of making Jane a character.

This book is so awesome! Can’t put it down and reads beautifully.

I’m going to play a guessing game….i think the “disappeared” wife is alive and dumped this husband; or the writer wants me to think so. The Scottish island seems forbidding! Glad he’s got a dog. Here I go into the plot!

This woman can turn a phrase and weave her story with skill! She creates colors and characters and sets her trap and then springs it! Dark and colorful at the same time. I love ❤️ storytelling ;especially islands with causeways in Cornwall. An English writer that speaks American or maybe just a universal spellbinder?

A spooky and amazing book. An ornithological tale with a sea voyage; end of the world ecological themes, terns, turtles, love, tragedy and sailors or I should say fishermen.

A fast moving romantic supernatural story.

First two chapters were very good! I like a chapter that ends in a flourish! She can turn a phrase. Finally we get some semi modern witches! Why do I feel we really didn’t get much further than suffrage? Feeling the feminine witchy rage….in a good way!

Such a good book; I want to read a chapter at a time and think about it

A compelling start. Japanese fantasy magical tale. Choices that are magical glowing birds. Supernatural pawn shop. Really a foreign land; never read anything like it. Hope it keeps up the spell which so far captures my attention despite my initial resistance to the dreamy style of this world. Scary monsters and a chaotic beginning. Love interest?

Must read this book every year or so. Her best novel to me
