My New Year’s resolution is to not torture myself with books I am not enjoying out of a compulsion to finish what I’ve started. We’ll see if I can finish this book without doing so.

I just saw this book was made into a movie, so I thought “hey if it was made into a movie it should be pretty good”. I didn’t even read the summary. So, what I’m trying to say is that I had no idea it was a YA book. It was cute, but I’ll pay more attention in the future.

Loving it. Why have I avoided this book for so long? 😂

I can’t rate this book. This a great book in the sense that it was so full of thought, you had to actively contemplate its contents page by page. But did I enjoy it? No! Ha! It’s January of 2021. I’ve just had my own existential crisis along with the rest of humanity. I’m exhausted.

I’m halfway through the Bible, a book I’ve read from my whole life, but now I’m reading it from front to back. I would say my teachers and parents did a good job of covering all of the stories and characters, because there’s not much I don’t remember. Which leaves me drudging my way through all of the details of genealogy, building materials and measurements. But you know what? That’s kind of amazing too

Hard to rate classics like this. I mean, is it well written? Of course. Did I enjoy parts of it? Yes. But how do you rate it? Moby Dick, meh. 3.5?

How amazing to hear his own words. I thought it was very intriguing to hear his own reflections.

Maybe I need a cool down period after Pride and Prejudice but so far I just can’t get into this.

Actually read Halfway House but couldn’t log it on Goodreads as it is not listed

When the ONLY reason I’m finishing the book is OCD.
