My New Year’s resolution is to not torture myself with books I am not enjoying out of a compulsion to finish what I’ve started. We’ll see if I can finish this book without doing so.

I couldn’t do it. Wouldn’t recommend it. It should be listed as an erotic book with violent content. The premise was intriguing but that’s not my kind of book.
