Trying to read this deep into my MJ obsession has proved to be a far more difficult task than I anticipated (im not even gonna tell you how long it took me to get this far)

So I have been made a filthy liar because I actually really love this book so far and it's really fun checking to see what chapters match up with what's happening in the last book and for once I am actually rooting so hard for Chaol

Somehow I felt like I was punched in the gut but in completely opposite ways. Each story has so much to take in and I think it may be my favorite book in the series even though I went from wanting to cry from being sad to wanting to cry and throw up from the horror of it all (seriously I keep having to take breaks because it keeps scaring me)

I have to put this down bc just like Gleanings, this scared me too much to read at night. There's only so much my anxiety can handle

Old men make me angry

Updating again to say: Chaol is so annoying. He is so quick to blame everything on Aelin when he literally served the king and stood by for y e a r s. Also someone play good luck babe to SJM bc what is the deal with all these subtly homoerotic comments towards each other

I'm only updating my progress on here bc I just want to say that Chaol hates women and he is annoying. I didn't think he could get more irritating

Why is Chaol so insufferable. This is truly my fault for having hope from the ending of the last book. I hope something bad happens to him. Not so bad like he dies but enough bad to stop being such a hypocrite

How am I only 62 pages in and I am irritated at Chaol all over again. I thought there was no way he could be any less annoying after the end of the last book but I was wrong and that was my fault
