Total imagination of the art biography loved it

Super sweet

Very insightful from chapter one; faux science discussion re the three-drug combo wasn’t based on any empirical evidence, not even euthanizing pets. Just a vague notion of deadness, “Why no? You wanted to make sore the prisoner was dead in the end, so why not add a third drug” was the reasoning bc more is better!?

Wow the author is so writerly and inventive while remaining scholarly. Very unique artist biography, and I love the historical contextualization of the time Gauguin grew up.

Enjoying this memoir.

Typical Pynchon, all over the place but...noir. I don't expect I will finish this one but I wanted to give P another go.

This will be a fast read: insightfully written, not particularly scholarly but entertaining. An interesting environmental expose I was not anticipating but as a West Coast native I find particularly relevant.

Such a good exploration, I really enjoyed seeing the thought experiment all the way to destruction
