I wanted to see how classroom behavior was handled in this book, although it was published in 1987. It was sweet and Mr. Sachar handled each challenge in an entertaining way.

My class this year loved this book!

I finished this, but I don’t get it. I’m not a lover of this book, but so many people raved about it. That kept me reading to the end. And I still don’t get it. It’s the literary equivalent of the shaky camera filming that became popular in the 90s. I had to reread many paragraphs to figure out what was happening. It just. The sense of it. Outlaws in a community. Not my favorite summer read.

Fantastic suspense story set in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Very hard to put down. And I particularly loved the way she wrote about the natural environment of Michigan.

Loved this story so much! I'm missing the Bennet family today and wonder what happened next. I'm going to read another Curtis Sittenfeld book.

I liked the beginning better than the end. I wished for a happier ending.

I love this book, and can't put it down. All kinds of jr high/high school memories keep creeping back into my mind.
