I completely expected Aunt Cindy‘s room to be filled with porcelain dolls. To me, all porcelain dolls seem like they have the souls of Victorian children trapped inside them. But as a 12”playline doll collector myself, I would not be at all creeped out by an American Girl doll room. I never had AG dolls as a kid, so I’d probably think it was interesting. 😂

Re-reading to get into the holiday spirit and refresh before Book 2. (Forgot the FMC's name is Storee...oof.)

I was really enjoying this book until this scene happened. Authors, if you put SA in your books, especially books marketed as cozy paranormal romances, please include a content warning.

Sukariel’s vocab switch from “behold, mortal,” “thee,” and “thine” to “fuck this” is hilarious. It’s like they have an angelic customer service voice that switches off the second they realize what Colin unleashed.

This book is entertaining, but it definitely makes me glad I don't work in a high-pressure corporate environment. Unleashing an ancient evil entity to get more bureaucratic power? Couldn't be me.

Reading this because the title made me laugh, and I need some levity after that last book.

I am FIGHTING to get through this book. It’s been a rough month, and I’m just not naturally gravitating towards this one. Don’t know whether it is the book or it’s me. I really liked the first one, so I had high hopes for the conclusion. I don’t know why it’s taking me so long to get through it.

There’s a two month gap in the events from the end of book one and the beginning of book two. All the new characters are kind of throwing me off.

Rereading because I got an ARC for the second book in this duology, and I realized I couldn’t remember most of what happened in the first book. Oops. ☠️ This is why I mostly read completed series.

Kindle really needs to let us link our ARCs to Goodreads, lol. I’m absolutely loving this so far. The intersection of shifters, gender identity, and prejudice in this book is really interesting.

Anytime someone calls Orlando “Orla,” I picture Orla McCool from Derry Girls. 😂

Does anyone else bookmark the maps in fantasy novels on their Kindle so they can easily refer to them as they read? This book has a map, but it’s not included in the ARC version. 😭 I feel so lost.

On the bright side, the magic system seems very interesting. I’ve never read about a MC with resurrection powers before.
