Palate cleanser! ♥️

Commence spooky reading season! I've got my rich red wine, my weighted blanket, rain tapping on my window, and book one of hopefully many weird and unsettling novels over the next month. Huzzah.

We've listened to this whole series on short road trips as a family, but I keep forgetting to record them here!

I'm never trusting another author of a book this good again. I am DISTRAUGHT.

I'M SORRY WHAT

Page 57 and I'm already butt-crazy in love with this book. Marx!!! Dong Hyun! God I adore an omniscient narrator. 95% sure my heart will be shattered by page 416, but I'm in too deep now.

This book is a hoot and a half. Perfect beach read so far!

I love Rebecca Stead so much. And I don't want this book to end.

Listening on Audible. So far, it's darling, and I love the narrator. In fact, I keep thinking, "I doubt I'd like this book half so much if I was reading it in print."

Oh Stephanie Perkins. Your books are candy and I have a sweet tooth.

I do believe this is the first time I've punched my fist in the air and yelled YES!!!! with a huge grin on my face while reading Tana French. Now let's please begin a slow descent with everything wrapping up nicely and no more mind games, eh, Tana?

It happens in every Tana French novel: I've reached the point at which stuff is about to get REAL spooky, and if I don't stop reading now, I'll be compelled to stay up all night. Ghosts, doppelgängers, or giant demon badgers will otherwise invade my dreams.

I keep having to take breaks the further I get into this book. I'm getting so uncomfortable with the (lack of) privacy walls closing in on Mae. So, of course, I had to make like The Circle and come update my goodreads instead of actually reading...

I actually have no idea what page I'm on - Listening to the audiobook. "Kiss me, Hardy!" I sat down on the kitchen floor and cried. This book is breaking my heart. It's among the best I've ever read, YA or otherwise.
