Did not see that coming!

Less than a 100 pages left and we still haven’t made the big reveal. This should be rushed like prom night in the back of a Mustang.

I would probably be done by now if the plot didn’t take more time off than some of my favorite co-workers.

Elizabeth Woodville. What a woman. Explains to Edward how dangerous it is to have one family like the Neville so tangled in royal affairs while at the same time tangling her own family into everything.

The was unnecessarily dramatic. I don’t really want a whiny Isabelle.

Alice likes women. How long are we going to suffer that drama?

The side characters are so awful. Ugh.

I can’t with these stupid house girls. They are incredibly stuck up.

Weird how this book claims to take place in France but everyone has Irish accents.

I think this author drops f-bombs more than I do. I always find that jolting in a historical novel.

It’s giving Twilight. Sad.

Calling it quits at 25%. It’s painfully obvious a white American male wrote this book. Additionally I’m over the author’s constant need to show the reader how smart he is. You’re a doctor. We know you aren’t stupid. If I wanted a lecture, I’d attend one.

The narrator keeps saying “parker” instead of parka and now I’m question my life. As someone with a heavy Minnesota accent, it’s hard on my ears.

So we’re worried that a boy is going to be mad at you for lying to him? Except he’s been lying to you since the first day you met him? Girl….

I have nothing against periods. I’ve had several that I’ve actually welcomed with open arms. However, do I need an entire chapter in a book about a girl and her blood clots? Not really.

Was I this annoyed with all the mc’s in the last book? Because Wendell is obnoxious and Emily is a know it all.

I hate that I’m struggling so much with this because Kate Quinn. But ugh. I haven’t found a character I really love yet and that’s abnormal for me with a Quinn novel.

I don’t remember this book being so problematic the first time I read it. i.e. The over 30 male year old detective thinking about a barely 18 year old girl in bed.

Just waiting for an earthquake. Or literally anything to happen.

A lot of dumb choices being made here. It’s amazing Charlotte and Thomas have survived this long.

So is it common in London for everything to be "Me and...."? Because the number of times Peter says "Me and Abigail" or "Me and Nightingale" when it should be "Abigail and I" or "Nightingale and I" is enough to drive me bonkers. I've noticed it happening more and more as the books progress. I'm just wondering if it's a culture thing I don't understand.

How are we all doing with out DMs? I moved to Fable because it seemed to be less restrictive than GRs only for them to just recently disabled the ability to send DMs. One has to wonder why this is trending on social sites aimed at readers.

I get it. Charlotte has the hots for Ingram. This book is quickly getting away from being a mystery of any kind. Unless the mystery is when will they finally just go to bed?

Hopefully things move a little faster once we are done introducing all the characters. I need a list.

I'm just going to run around yelling "Masculine Syrup!"
