A friend recommended this book to me the story hasn't established yet but the premise seems interesting

I love the story premise and the writing style. The characters are great and I've unpacked very little of the story so far, but I am hooked. The way the mystery is unfolding is so nail-biting; I'm sitting on the edge of my seat eager to turn the next page as soon as I read the first sentence. And the Hawthorne brothers are so interesting I love there distinct personalities.

The first 2 chapters felt slow but after the story established its actually quite interesting the lore is something abit different to things I've previously read within similar genres. I enjoy the pacing of the book and structure of the story is well written in my opinion and I quite liek the writing style of the author. Plus I don't own any other books from this author so the self-contained aspect is great.
