I actually finished reading this last week, but it was SOOO good I started reading it again.

I’ve written haiku on and off for years, but I’m enjoying learning about the haiku style of Issa from this book. In particular, the lessons focus around a theme with lots (often humorous and thoughtful) examples and guidance for creating your own. I’ve already written a dozen haiku inspired by this book and looking forward to writing many more with new purpose and focus.

I initially grabbed this book to act as a form of inspiration for a book I want to write about a time-traveling cat. But now that I’m reading it, I’m finding it to be more humorous and heart-warming than I expected.
