So much potential... It's gotten better, but really, let's be honest, it needs a rewrite.

The prologue intrigued me enough to keep listening, but the first several chapters are just eh. I NEED something more intense... emotional/explosive to grab my attention and keep me reading, like a deeper dive into what happened two years ago and the details behind Rey's mission at Endir university.

Ohhh... I like Olerra and how she captured Brutus' king on the battlefield. She really should have killed him, but I understand that she plans to use him as her pawn.
After, getting to know the king a bit in Chapter 2 (Sanos' POV), he deserves to be overthrown and tortured. My heart hurts for Sanos and what his father has put him through.
Here's hoping the book is better than its reviews!

I've decided to pause this one for now. I've loved every Falon Ballard book I've read up to this point, so maybe it's a mindset/mood thing. I'll try again sometime next year.

Not sure about this one, so I'm going to pause it for now and come back to it in a day or two.

The start of this one seems slower than the first two in the series, but maybe that's because my latest reads have been quick paced. It's picking up now, and as always, Cleo's snark has me laughing out loud.

Usually, I enjoy Nora Roberts' books, but this one seems to be dragging. Maybe I'm just not in the right head space.
