In my short story era… the first story was so intense. i love that this book includes afterwords—getting a little peak inside butler’s beautiful brain is sublime

things got a little bit boring for like 40 pages but immediately sucked me back in lol

little free library find. Idk if i’d have picked this up otherwise but i’m having fun. I always forget that i actually do like short stories

I don’t want to finish this book because I don’t want it to be over. This section is so intensely good. The sense of mounting foreboding has me rereading paragraphs just to keep feeling the sensations they evoke. Each chapter feels crystalline and complete. I’m in awe.
