This book will probably also make me feel feelings. But it's short and I'm trying to finish my 50 books. (Technically I read 50, but the 3 I read for work are the worst and should never count for anything.)

Time to speed-read the books I will potentially be giving to my nieces and nephews for Christmas.

I forget why I put this on my TBR, but I need something light so I can make some headway on Villette.

Gonna finish a series before I start a new one. Look at me being organized.

My read-through of Bronte novels is going to be slow, but I'm still determined to do it.

I've decided to do a tour of the Bronte novels, most of which I haven't read before. (I will skip Jane Eyre, because I've read that one - which is my favorite book - about 12 times.) I have read Wuthering Heights too, but it was 25 years ago, and there was a lot of skimming going on. I'll finish Charlotte's novels next, then read Anne's. I am skipping the poetry because even the Brontes can't get me reading that.

I need to finish at least one series before starting another one, so I'll probably do this and the fourth/final book back-to-back.

I am about to start my furious quick read of the books I bought my nieces and nephews for Christmas to make sure they're appropriate. (I don't mind sex scenes, obviously, but I won't gift them to the kids, even if they're not really kids anymore.) So I need some fluff too. Luckily, I've already read a couple of the books I'm gifting, so I can juggle.

I feel like this one will just depress me, but I still want to read it.

Going to read this because it was my oldest available TBR book on my Libby app, but Greer appeared in the NYT singing the praises of a book I hated, so... we'll see.

I am begging - begging! - novelists who have heavy involvement of police or police procedure to speak to a detective or ask one to review their manuscript. Ugh. "That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works!"

I know I'm being picky. I've seen way worse. But it just takes me straight out of the story.

I have no idea why this is on my TBR, but let's see.

I picked this up for $10(!!!) at HPB today and will be slowly picking my way through it. (I mostly want to look at the pretty pictures, but I guess I'll read it too, lol.) My copy has a different cover with a House of Worth jacket on it.

I am friends with ML and read pieces of early drafts of this book! (It is surely entirely different now.) So excited for her. I will be biased, because she's wonderful, but she's also a wonderful writer, so I'm not too worried! :)

This went on my TBR as a possible book for one of my nieces years ago. Now she's outgrown it, but I'm waiting for a couple longer books to come off the hold list, so sure.

And now for a wild swing of the pendulum away from romance and toward horrific nonfiction about normal police becoming active perpetrators in the Holocaust.

Oh wait. I don't think this is Violet's prequel. It's someone named Billie (I loathe that name). Okay. Well, here we go.

Finally reading an essential.

Lolololol, this guy was/is friends with Jared Kushner. Do I even need to read the rest of the book? Tells me everything I need to know right there.

I have volumes 4 thru 6 on loan and am on hold for the last 2 (plus prequel), so you're just going to get a slew of Bridgerton reviews for awhile.

Another exhibit catalog, this time for the LACMA show that I didn't know existed until it was over. (I have friends in LA that I could've visited for a long weekend! *shakes fist*)

This sounds like it might be literary fiction, but it's the oldest available library book on my list, so I'll give it a chance.

Gonna see if I can finish this in the next 24 hours (while on call, lol) so I can give it to my nephew along with the first one.

A murder mystery *including* a trial. Will I spend the entire book picking apart what's done wrong? Or will I enjoy it? We shall see! Lol.

This book will probably upset and depress me, but I need to plow through the books I'm getting/considering for my nieces and nephews for Christmas (which I do to make sure I'm not accidentally giving them something with graphic sex scenes, like I almost did last year 😳). So I need something I won't compulsively return to.

I usually don't like bestsellers, but it was next on my TBR, so we'll see!
