I love the house on mango street. There are so many correlated themes about her life. This reminded me of the I remember project. These were the core memories in her life. Her friends, family, loved ones, and life. Groups. many people feel safe in their own groups, once they leave they're the group they're like as a young mouse bolting from a hungry cat. This made me feel about true groups. Everyone has their groups.

Part 2.

When Kino gets greedy and his chances of selling the pearl fall, the other theme of Darwinism comes to my mind. Only the fittest can handle the situation of holding the pearl. Kino is weak academically, and that causes his slim chances of getting a good price for his pearl. Darwinism is the main theme mainly due to power, without power you will not survive. Just like Kino. Insane. Short-sighted. Assasain.

When reading the Pearl, the theme of hope has really been slowly diminishing, and greed is rising. Kino, a brave yet poor man, found the "Pearl of the World." He was suddenly rich, and hope was to build upon him. But the pearl completely mutates Kino into an animal, and it is slowly been destroying him. All of Kino's plans are interrupted by the pearl, and his greed for it skyrockets. Greed can tear us apart,

When I read the lines, "For me, school has been a Darwinian exercise." This opens me up to a major theme in the book, Darwinism, other known as "survival of the fittest." I firmly believe that the main character is trying to say that the smart will stay ahead and the dumb will fall back. The main character lacks self-esteem and is lackadaisical. So the book is trying to prove that once your low, it's hard to revive.

When I was reading I came along the lines, "I'm a man, I'm a man, I'm a man" When Kino said this, I immediately stopped and thought to my self, "what is Steinbeck trying to say?" I thought of A Long Walk to Water, because in Sudan the boys/men would get educated and the women would be housewives. I think Kino was trying to say that he was not stupid, and the pearl buyers are treating him like an animal.

Kino's life is very sophisticated when he tries to sell the pearl. Kino is blindsided that everyone already knows about the pearl, and the whole city is trying to rip it out of his hands. I think greed has built upon Kino, because he has been acting so much different from the beginning of the book, especially his attitude. I think of it as a food chain, and Kino is a new species, ready to die out immediately.

In Maycomb, Scout and Jem were creeping up the porch to the door, the door which led to the creepiest man in town; Scout touched the door and ran for her life. In the book, I think Harper Lee is representing Boo Radley (Freak House) in a way, he represents the idea of innocence... Throughout the book, many characters can be labeled as the mockingbird, who have been injured or destroyed through contact with evil.

Part 2.
~ The doctor was like the Karma switch. When he refused Coyotito, a spark of Karma shined. It shined in the way of a pearl. The Pearl of the World. Karma came back and in the best way possible. Karma is a never-ending fight so more consequences were there to follow. All eyes were now on Kino, nobody felt good for the man, but they all thought the same, "How can I profit of this stupid guy?"
Karma is Constant.

Imagine eating the same exact corncake's every day. Imagine living in a brush house. Imagine being a fourth-class citizen. That was life for Kino, Coyotito, and Juana. They repeated, and repeated, until one day when "The Song of Evil" played in the form of scorpion the light switched. The fourth-class citizens believed they would be helped by a first-class citizen (doctor.) The doctor refused because Kino was broke.

Part. 2
In the book something very small occurs, there is panic. This relates to the new generation and old generation. This difference in the book is like the start of a new era. Slowly the world collapses, then rebuilds and repeats. Sometimes in life, the spark of the new era can be started through the simplest events such as a new idea. Don't be afraid to speak, you never know when that idea can change the world.

Imagine being stuck in a generation for years. In the book to kill a mocking bird the main character Scout, and her brother Gem always repeat activities and never get bored of repeating the same things. stuck in one generation is sort of my life with my parents at times. What they have gone through, is what we have to go through. It sometimes feels like we are evolving and the world is consuming the old.

White sixth-grader Marjorie has lots to worry about in the late winter of 1954. Her father came back from World War II jumpy and abrupt. She's not a fan of Frank, the 18-year-old orphan her father took in, or Carol Anne, her skittish 6-year-old sister. This makes me wonder why this Jew did not appreciate Ann's worship. If I were Marjorie, I would prey to Ann every day, and hope that seh helps the Jews.

Alex Myers the new kid from Boston, trying out for the football team. Imagine a coach screaming at you for doing good. Imagine getting a timeout for not saying "yes sir!" Alex knows the only way to get on the football team is give it his best. As long as if you believe, anything is possible. Michael Jordan became the best NBA player he once did not even make Varsity and he is known for his incredible work ethic.

I love how this book is progressing with Alex Myers and goes to a new football team. He is very nervous in tryouts and pushes himself to his limits. This gives me a reminder of Salva how every day the struggle was real and he pushed through it like Alex in tryouts. This makes me believe that a major theme in this book is working hard will always pay off.

This book continues when Steffi (The main character) goes on a trip with an old man she met on the bus who liked the same type of jazz as her.

Danny Walker, one of the best ballplayers in the nation, won the state championships. He keeps winning but during the offseason, he does not put the work in. Next season he has at the Under 13 age group he starts losing. This reminds me of myself this year. We won our very first tournament. we got cocky like Danny and then lost. I think a theme in this book is Don't be cocky. When you're cocky you will lose.

After reading a bunch this week, of Sumiko's family slowly disappearing. The U.S was not very pleased with the pearl harbor bomb. And They wanted to kill the Japs. I can really connect to this when our Japanese public speaker came to our school. The main connections I made was about her school life and concentration camps. Sumko and our public speaker were both poor and were Japs living in the U.S

I went really deep into this book today And I felt what the characters were feeling. At the beginning of my reading, I came among a tragic event. The Japanese had bombed pearl harbor and Sumiko was scared that the Americans would kill her and the rest of the Japs. I felt really worried when I read that, I felt like I was in her shoes. Sumiko and her family try to save themselves by burning all their Japenese items,

I have just been reading weedflower lately and I have been seeing the ways that the Japenese-Americans were very hard workers. And did not have the most wealthy-like lives. I can relate this to ALWTW because both Salva and Sumiko would work very hard for their family, and produce goods.

As I continue to read more and more of this book, I slowly start to identify the traits of Steffi. Steffi is more of a quiet type of girl in school but a rock and role person out of school. I enjoy as Alvar take Steffi to learn the true roots of the music Steffi had fallen in love with.

How did the novel make you connect to similar historical events?

Alvar was a very talented musician from the WW2 times and she explains the classical jazz of his time. Steffi loves his music and decides to go with him to Stockholm and learn the roots of the music. This reminds me of when I was first being introduced to the recorder in third grade and I loved playing notes, and little songs from it.

Today I read for a solid hour. And I enjoyed scratching the surface of my book, and I am learning more about the main characters Steffi And Alvar. Steffi is your everyday high school student who thinks of school as a nightmare. On the unfortunate side she gets bullied and she is called ugly, I always feel bad for her when something along those lines appears. But she loves Music, So she finds an Old Man named Alvar

After just reading a bunch more this weekend I decided this book is not my type and i figuered that I was done with this book.

today I decided to take a little break from Crazy Rich Asians and give my self a little book for me to analyze better. When I first read this book I only read for plot. But today when I read I analyzed many details of the book. for eg, when Greg Heffley went to the hotel pool he said "wow people are actually wearing pants and not peeing in the pool. I can infer that he usually goes to public pools, and is enjoying.
