It’s funny, I only listen to the podcast episodes featuring comedians so I’ve missed all the bon mots from other professionals because usually they’re quite boring, in comparison. But the book, the comedians don’t translate so well unless you can do the whole bit in their voice in your head and the other types of people turn out to be the entertaining ones with helpful insights.

I really cannot stress how calming yet inspirational this book is. And the chapters are cut up into short discrete ideas so you can read one at whatever point in the day you feel you could use an assured hand on your shoulder while Rick Rubin distills a universal truth into a palatable few short pages of reading.

Reading on the recommendation of a friend and I’m kind of loving it? It hilarious that the majority of her footnotes are from Atlas Shrugged. She is staying on brand ;)

I’m reading so many books right now, I think I might be using them as a coping mechanism 😬
