An anticipated read of mine but I found the story to be boring. That’s what I get for letting the cover persuade me. Hopefully others will enjoy but not for me. I need to cool it on Regency.

I’m really liking the first person. Don’t feel as bogged down by the internal monologues, however the chapters are shorter…

One pet peeve about the new covers is the lack of time and place. The way the female is dressed on the cover You would think it’s a warm climate. Several times in this book they talk about cold and down jackets. I miss when the covers would convey seasons.

I wonder if we can age out of the romance genre? I still read it and most likely always will but it’s just not the same to me. Is it the current authors or have I just read too many? Or, have I become jaded in life that romance isn’t the be all end all it used to be? Even romantic movies aren’t the same.

Just thoughts I have had lately.
