i‘ve reread „the shadow of the wind“ many times but i‘ve neglected to reread zafon‘s other books so far - clearly a mistake. he is truly an exceptional storyteller, immediately draws me in everytime.

(sorry in advance for the spoiler) so the return of the father bit…. first time i feel like something’s too easy of a narrative choice. not sure i like this.

i‘m honestly pleasantly surprised so far. i mean, this is a lot - the story was already insanely complex in the first book and now there are obviously THREE worlds to keep track of, but the way they‘re interwoven and the story keeps switching between them is done very cleverly, i feel. definitely keeping me engaged and puzzling.

tell me this is getting better, please

listen, the visceral fucking STRESS my entire body just went through… that was. terrifying.

wailllll, god‘s graves, as if the suspense and intricate plot lines wasn‘t enough, now the FEELINGS had to come in for the kill too?? sigh. well it‘s past midnight again and i‘ll attempt to leave the last bit for tomorrow…

listen i know there‘s still a good bit coming but i can‘t see how this is gonna wrap up in a way that won‘t make me gag for part II. which supposedly is much worse than part I…….. i‘m stressed

this is seriously picking up speed now. we‘re entering the dangerous territory where it becomes entirely possible that i stay up waaaay too long reading.

Bin jetzt in Kapitel 15 und mit jedem Kapitel gefällt es mir besser - überraschend gut, mit erstaunlich vielen Facetten. Und wer hätte gedacht, dass ich sogar noch mit Franz mitfiebern würde…

yep i‘ve been influenced. and considering i‘m using my saved up audible credits for this, it doesn‘t even interfere with my „no buying new books this year“ rule.
currently in chapter 29.

and: what is it with german authors writing books about english/american/canadian teens? (re: dunbridge academy).

somehow i knew this was gonna be one of those books that‘d flay me wide open.
well. about halfway through and i‘ve already sobbed once. cheers.

to be completely honest with you, i‘ve lost the plot. like at this point i am so confused, i barely remember anything that happened in the entire series, it‘s just so MUCH?! but also on the upside: still being entertained.

well this has been like my fourth or so reread and this is still fun, but also i have JUST noticed that daddy issues are a recurring theme with elle kennedy, maybe i should take a break on the hockey romances… 🤔
