this is kind of driving me insane? like i didn‘t expect much of this but it‘s actually delivering in ways i wasn‘t expecting… god. (it‘s fucking past 3am on my last night of spring break, kill me)

wow this is like way too dark and sick for my taste, i‘m just in it for the morbid curiosity at this point but i‘ll revisit that decision tomorrow

tracked my reading speed tonight because recent events (being fully anti-social and spending my entire spring break reading) have made me wonder and i honestly would‘ve thought i read faster than this. do all the booktokers with 100+ read books a year actually understand anything of what they‘re reading??

i swear i‘m normal and the speed at which i‘m consuming gay romance novels doesn‘t inform on my mental state at all
(also how is it past midnight again and we‘re JUST getting to the good part 🥲)

actually incredible literature, what can i say.

one thing i love about this series is how many women populate its pages, how the gender of a character never seems to be an indicator of their strength or proficiency of of the fear they inspire. then again, kind of sad that that‘s such an unusual circumstance that i would take notice like this…

honestly this is kinda funny but i still don‘t understand the big hype so far… it‘s gonna be one hard fight from here on out if this is gonna wanna make me read more of the series

i‘m side eyeing this book SO hard but i also really wanna know what all the hype is about so i guess here we go (gotta use up my audible credits anyways)

i‘ve reread „the shadow of the wind“ many times but i‘ve neglected to reread zafon‘s other books so far - clearly a mistake. he is truly an exceptional storyteller, immediately draws me in everytime.

(sorry in advance for the spoiler) so the return of the father bit…. first time i feel like something’s too easy of a narrative choice. not sure i like this.

i‘m honestly pleasantly surprised so far. i mean, this is a lot - the story was already insanely complex in the first book and now there are obviously THREE worlds to keep track of, but the way they‘re interwoven and the story keeps switching between them is done very cleverly, i feel. definitely keeping me engaged and puzzling.

tell me this is getting better, please

wailllll, god‘s graves, as if the suspense and intricate plot lines wasn‘t enough, now the FEELINGS had to come in for the kill too?? sigh. well it‘s past midnight again and i‘ll attempt to leave the last bit for tomorrow…

listen i know there‘s still a good bit coming but i can‘t see how this is gonna wrap up in a way that won‘t make me gag for part II. which supposedly is much worse than part I…….. i‘m stressed
