My first Sanderson book and I'm really enjoying this.

Someone explain to me the point of the chap 7 ending, very slowly. 😐

I know I have an assignment due today that I haven't started yet but it can wait.

This book has a character named Jane who's from the Central Highlands of British East Africa. 💞
The author builds her story with tales of ogres, British invasion and leopards.

Plot twist: Elisha is a doormat, he can measure weight while you dust your shoes off him and play you some Hungarian piano music while you do it.

“No. I want you to act like a goddamned human being. Like my son.”

So Elisha could be an automated doormat and I wouldn't know the difference 😬

"How badly I have behaved," she cried. "How prejudiced I have been, I who have always been so proud of my ability to judge people. That pride has led me blindly to making a stupid mistake."

This book reminds me too much of The Starless Sea which didn't appeal to me much. I like the POV and characters better though.

This book is so entertaining

So I thought I'd listen to this before I slept but I dozed off and forgot to put autosleep so technically I'm finished with it. Yay.

Loving the Russian accent of the narrator and the Russian words, though because I'm listening it was hard to keep up with them at first. As for the story, it's well written but slow. I'm hoping more will happen.
