Lucy is on page 123 of 336 of What to Read and Why
I've read about a third of this book plus a couple more chapters, but I'm not going to finish it. None of her recommendations tell me why I should want to put these unpleasant people in my head. Why should I live with them long enough to finish any of the books she recommends? Ugh.

Lucy is on page 152 of 224 of Fifty Animals that Changed the Course of History
It's interesting to have animals in alphabetical order by their Latin names, not their English names. It starts with mosquito (Anopheles gambiae).

How animals have affected humans and been affected by them. Short essays in 2, 4, or 6-page lengths, with interesting historical illustrations. I do with the illustrations had more information about them, like when they were made and by whom.

Lucy is on page 230 of 237 of The Gardens of Louisiana: Places of Work and Wonder
I do wish the captions were more specific, there's plenty of room. Tropical foliage, and Staircase with foliage tell me nothing.
I read all the way to the end, all 231 pages, though I skimmed the bibliography and skipped reading the index.

I wonder why this entry says there are 272 pages. My copy of the book (a library copy actually) has only 237 pages, including the index.

I would like to visit at least some of the gardens depicted.

Lucy is reading Kim (Library Binding)
I don't know what page I'm on because it's an audiobook, which doesn't have page number.
However, I just finished listening to disk 5 out of 8.

Celia Graves has the kind of life only wished on urban fantasy heroines who can kick ass. Unfortunately, sometimes things kick back. Big time.

Lucy is finished with Timeless (Parasol Protectorate, #5)
This seems to conclude the series. A lot of different plot lines are resolved in one way or another. I'll miss them, then again I may enjoy re-reading them some day.

Lucy is on page 146 of 240 of Murder of the Bride (Rex Graves Mystery #5)
This is book 5 of a series. I wanted to get into the middle to see if I liked the main characters. They're okay. The mystery is okay. The setting is okay.

Lucy is on page 104 of 160 of Schott's Quintessential Miscellany (Indispensable Irrelevance)
This is a fun pick-it-up-for-a-while book. Really a trivia book. P. 62 had some Unusual April Fool's Day hoaxes. P. 52 has flag, semaphore & Morse signals. P. 74-75 has a list of Alfred Hitchcock's cameo appearances in his movies. P. 33 has some Unlikely 'cures' for hiccups. Schott has 3 previous similar books.
