Why is there already a sex party on page 45. These are 16-year-olds.
This was very much marketed as an adult grim dark fantasy. I kind of don't want to read about teenage lust and hormones!? I got enough of that in Hobbs Rain Wild Chronicles already...

I'm genuinely so baffled by what I'm reading. Hobb, my love, why do you make me read about teenagers constantly thinking and talking about sex? Why put me through this 😭

I gotta say, this feels like a chore to go through - definitely not the best book to read on vacation. There's so much exposition, it feels like I'm reading a text book at times. The chapters are also ridiculously short. I'm not a fan of short chapters. I hope this book will pick up!

I actually cannot do this enemies to lovers bullshit anymore. I actually can't. We are in chapter 17 and the FMC is already talking about her heart fluttering, she's talking about sparks and a knot in her chest when she thinks about the MMC. The MMC, mind you, with whom she had one (!!!) conversation so far at the beginning of the book.

I don't enjoy this book anymore

Have you ever read something that was so terrible that it made your ears physically ring? Yeah, me neither, until I read the chapter "Quarrel" in The Golden Fool by Robin Hobb. A chapter so irrevocably damaging to the rest of the entire series that I genuinely have trouble wrapping my mind around it.

I struggle having to stay with Fitz right now. For the past 30 pages it has been a chore to keep reading.

I struggle with this book quite a bit. I dont get it? What's the author's plan her? One of the MMC's just literally went ahead and murdered, like three people. INNOCENT PEOPLE. And I'm supposed to root for him?

Have you ever read something so clever yet so unimaginably twisted that you end up just sitting there starring at the wall in complete and utter shock-filled silence? Yeah.

I know what this world is to me, I know what these characters are to me. So, when I picked up this book from my shelves I asked the universe for strength, because I was not in the mood for a crying fit this evening.

I cried on page 8 and haven't stopped since...

How am I genuinely surprised that this is GOOD? Right, because I've been hearing criticism for this book legt and right!!! So far I don't see much of a problem with Carrie's attitude, I don't see an issue!!! Am I doing something wrong? THIS BOOK IS GREAT
