Alex and Poppy are intimate. Nikolai comes and tells them the AC for the entire wing of the apartments isn’t working and refunds them for the entire three days. They go find a hotel. Alex isn’t talking about what happened and falls asleep. Poppy sleeps in the other bed.

Four summers ago they were supposed to go to Sweden but Poppy got really sick. She told Alex to go and she would meet up but he came to New York instead and took care of her. Poppy had pneumonia!

Alex & Poppy try to go to the pool when they get back to the apartment after a long day of everything going badly. The pool is empty! Had to be drained. The air isn’t working in the room! Alex loses it! Poppy says this isn’t how things are supposed to go. They should be how they used to be but Alex yells that things have changed. Poppy says she doesn’t want to lose him. Alex raps her up and they kiss!

Five summers ago: Sanibel Island. Alex is so depressed because Sarah broke up with him cause he is boring. Poppy tries to cheer him up but it’s not really working. While on that trip, Poppy for the first time feels that she is in love with Alex. The rain poured so hard Alex asked to go somewhere cold next trip.

Palm Springs is so hot and Alex isn’t feeling well. Poppy is so upset and is trying so hard to make it a great day. After the zoo they went to a dinosaur museum that was awful. Then in their way back to the apartment, they got a flat tire. Things are still not going well.

Vail trip: Alex calls Sarah twice a day but doesn’t talk in front of Poppy. They are having a great time. They connect with Lita from their trip to Canada at Buck’s place. She lives in Vail now and is a river rafting guide. They go on a beginner’s guide with her. On the second to last day while hiking Poppy rolls her ankle and Alex carries her down the mountain! Why don’t these characters say how they feel!

It’s the last day that Alex and Poppy have to themselves. They shared the bed to help Alex’s back. They woke up next to each other, touching. Poppy’s feelings are getting stronger. She wants this to be the best day to salvage their friendship and make Alex never want to go 2 years without talking again. They go to the zoo but Alex gets dizzy and doesn’t feel good in the heat.

Six summers ago: Vail, Colorado. Guillermo dumped Poppy after meeting her family. They are loud, hoard everything, and have colorful personalities. Not for everyone. They had been living together so Poppy moving out was financially and emotionally hard. Alex has been dating Sarah for 9 months. She doesn’t seem to like Poppy. A vacation doesn’t seem likely until Poppy is offered a free stay at a hotel in Vail.

Current summer: Poppy helps Alex edit his Tender account. They argue about the kind of girls Alex likes and goes for. Poppy doesn’t like that they are sweet girls but boring. He wouldn’t ever go for someone like her. But Alex looks at her Tender account and says he would. Poppy blushes and again has feelings she ignores. She is glad his back went out or who knows what would have happened next. Probably NOTHING!

7 summers ago they went to New Orleans. Poppy has moved to New York. She doesn’t get to see Alex as much. Poppy is dating a chef named Guillermo. She met him while dining with Rachel at one of her places for her social media account. Poppy and Alex have another great vacation full of times where she has feelings for him but doesn’t say anything.

Alex throws his back out. Poppy takes care of Alex and she enjoys it. Alex tells Poppy to go out still without him so she can still enjoy her day. She goes to the art museum and some thrift stores but it’s not the same without Alex. She goes back to Alex and they decide to watch something on his laptop. When she opens it up she sees an application for him to teach in NY! But Alex isn’t sure he wants to move.

8 summers ago. Poppy has dropped out of school and is working as a bartender. She is dating a guy named Julian. He is an artist. Alex doesn’t like him. Feels that Poppy deserves more. They go on their next trip to San Fran. They go wine tasting and explore the city. They are celebrating Alex graduating. She falls asleep next to him. Poppy once again has feelings for Alex but doesn’t say anything.

The Palm Springs trip is still pretty bad. The air conditioning still isn’t working. There are awkward moments between them. Like when Alex tells Poppy he started living in his grandma’s house after she passed. Poppy is so sad. During this trip Poppy keeps having feelings for Alex and feeling attracted to him. She won’t say anything and keeps pretending like it’s nothing.

Their second trip is to Nashville. They didn’t have enough money for Paris. Alex had to help his brother with tuition. Alex’s mom died after giving birth to his brother David. Alex is the oldest and takes care of everyone. Even his dad. Alex is not a virgin but Poppy is. Poppy has her first thought of kissing Alex during this trip! But she pushes it down.

This vacation in Palm Springs is not going as well. It’s really hot, the air conditioner isn’t working, and the pool is packed. Poppy keeps getting rushes of feelings for Alex. It is all because of their previous trip in Croatia that we still don’t know about!!

Their first ever trip is going better. Canada is really pretty. They go across the island and take a water taxi where they meet their driver Buck. He invites them to stay at his place. They go and there are a bunch of people there having a bon fire. Poppy and Buck make out which Alex doesn’t care for. A girl named Daisy seems interested in Alex but he doesn’t repay the attraction.

So far their trip in Palm Springs isn’t starting off well. The rental car doesn’t have functioning air conditioning. Things will be going well with them and then Poppy will say something that seems to make Alex upset but he doesn’t say anything. Alex makes a joke about Poppy coming to teach his class but she was bullied really badly in school and has no desire to go back. Their rented place is one bedroom!

Alex and Poppy both arrive to Palm Springs. When Alex met Poppy’s parents he was very kind and didn’t make any comments on how much stuff they have. Poppy’s parents are hoarders. They see one another after 2 years! No mention of what happened on their last trip in Croatia yet. 10 years ago was their first trip. They went to Vancouver Island. On their flight Poppy learned that Alex is scared of flying.

The travel company Poppy works for, R & R, doesn’t want to go with her idea for Palm Springs for their next issue. Poppy’s boss, Swapna, says no to Palm Springs but Poppy already made plans to go there with Alex. That’s the only place he can go to before the school year begins and it’s for his brother’s wedding but he can go with Poppy early. Now Poppy has to pay for them on her own.

After Freshman year, Alex and Poppy got set up to carpool together home for the summer. During that car ride they got to know one another better and became friends. It was rough at first because they are polar opposite but towards the end they were enjoying each other’s company.

Poppy’s friend Rachel asks her what makes her happy. Not much does without Alex. There is a hole that can’t be filled. They text again. He was thinking about her and reached out. On a whim Poppy asks him if he wants to go on another trip together.

Alex and Poppy haven’t spoken in 2 years. She sends him a random text after thinking about him and how it was during their last trip that she lost her creative desire. Nothing comes from the texting. They met 12 years ago at their college campus. The only thing they had in common was coming from the same small area in Ohio. He was quiet and nerdy and she is loud.

Poppy and Alex went on a vacation together 5 summers ago. They are good friends who travel together. Poppy gets a job at a travel magazine but her creative spirit isn’t there anymore. She last had her spirit 2 years ago in Croatia with Alex Nilsen. They don’t speak anymore.

Sophie agrees to testify what Margarita did so the FBI can put her away. The FBI agent BoBo who helped me escape Natasha bugged Sophie’s death purse without a warrant so they will drop Sophie’s charges as long as she testifies. Anatoly got shot but is okay and says he will divorce Natasha. She doesn’t have anything on him anymore since she hired BoBo who is an agent. Alex got away. He sent Sophie her computer

The Russian Mafia run by Natasha’s family was selling the drugs for the Mexican cartel but withheld money from the Cartel. Alex knew this info and told Margarita the head of the cartel after his brother was killed. He wants to get the Mafia killed who are involved and then take over. He needs Anatoly to show Margarita the proof of his claim. Tanya was working with Alex on this plan but Natasha protected Anatoly.

Sophie goes and wakes up Dena and tells her what she found. Leah emailed Dena the files they found on Anatoly’s USB. It’s history of plane tickets to Mexico. They find out it’s to a place run by the Mexican cartel who is run by a woman! Alex always knows where Sophie has been! He must have tracked her phone when it was in his house. They decide to leave but he catches them. Sophie shoots him with his gun!

Sophie goes snooping around Alex’s house. She heard him and Margarita fighting in Spanish. It sounds like she is the boss not Alex. After she leaves Sophie hears Alex sobbing. While snooping she finds the same paper clip in the shape of a bone that Dena put on Sophie’s strap of her laptop case before the man broke into her room and stole it!

Alex wants to talk to Anatoly. He wants to confirm if the mafia killed his brother Kenya because he had brought the FBI agent in with the mafia. He needs understanding. Alex knew Natasha drove Sophie out to Red Rock canyon! She didn’t tell him the name of the park. He is very suspicious but something about him makes Sophie kind of crushing on him. Sophie’s mom found Anatoly’s hidden USB stick!

Leah and Mary Ann are having a good time gambling and have no idea someone broke into Sophie’s room and took her computer. Sophie needs to go see Alex again. Make him think she trusts him, get his guard down and see if he tries to do anything. This way she can decide if he is the one up to this whole mess. Dena goes with her to get her own revenge on Fawn if it comes to that.

Anatoly has some info that could bring the whole mafia down! It could go nuclear. Anatoly doesn’t think Alex is behind this. He wants Sophie to leave Vegas but of course she won’t so he leaves again to keep his facade going with Natasha. Sophie and Marcus go back to the hotel room and it’s a mess. They see a man leaving with Sophie’s computer with her only manuscript for her recent book! She is pissed!
